This month, we are featuring a beautiful story, Waiting for the Biblioburro, by Monica Brown and John Parra.
While the story of the little girl in this book is fictional, the reality of a traveling librarian, the biblioburro, with his two donkeys, Alfa and Beto, is entirely true. There are a number of news outlets that covered Luis Soriano, the Colombian teacher, who used his weekends to bring books to children in more remote villages throughout the country. Below are two of our favorite links, including the trailer for a longer feature about Soriano’s story.
